Overview
The course covers various aspects of privacy engineering and provides a unique composition of views on privacy domain: from a consumer, software engineer, and lawyer’s perspective. Students will be introduced to privacy fundamentals, work on practical engineering tasks, and learn about privacy in emerging areas of technology, like blockchain or healthcare information systems.

Prerequisites
Software Architecture, Data Structures, Operating Systems, Computer Networking.
Methodology
Lectures. Practical in-class (group) and home (individual) assignments. Individual project (presentation) created during the course and delivered before the final session.
Grading
With more than two decades of experience as a cybersecurity and digital trust expert, Michael loves to explore new technologies, mentor young cybersecurity professionals, and do occasional hands-on work. Michael started his career as a system administrator at a university campus, then worked as a penetration tester, senior IT auditor, and an information security manager. Currently, Michael leads the security team at Opera, a browser vendor and internet technology company (Nasdaq: OPRA) with more than 350 million users worldwide.
Michael has received a degree in information security from Petersburg State Transport University and has held CISSP, CISA, and CISM certifications. He is also a frequent speaker at security events, and a member of the program committee at the ZeroNights security conference.

Yes. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate signed by the director of the program your course belonged to.
