Overview
This hands-on course teaches you to build AI-powered automation systems without writing code. You'll master no-code platforms like Make, n8n, and Zapier while integrating AI capabilities through ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini APIs.The course is structured in three progressive blocks:
1. Automation Fundamentals — Understanding triggers, actions, and data flows. Learning when to use deterministic automation versus AI-powered decisions.
2. AI Integration — Connecting large language models to your workflows for content generation, classification, and intelligent decision-making.
3. System Architecture — Building complete marketing automation systems that combine multiple tools and AI agents into cohesive solutions.
Students will collaborate on a "Marketing Team Amplifier" project, where each person builds an individual automation component that integrates into a group-wide marketing system.
Learning highlights
- Understand the fundamental difference between deterministic automation and AI-powered workflows, and learn when to apply each approach effectively.
- Master no-code automation platforms (Make, n8n, Zapier) to connect marketing tools and create multi-step workflows.
- Integrate AI capabilities (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) into automation flows for content generation, lead scoring, and intelligent routing.
- Design data architectures using Airtable as a central hub that connects multiple automation components.
- Build production-ready AI agents that can classify, decide, and act autonomously within defined parameters.
- Apply automation strategically to marketing functions, including lead management, email sequences, content distribution, and reporting.

Introduction to No-Code Automation
Course overview and objectives.
The automation landscape: when to automate and when not to. Setting up accounts (Make, Zapier, Airtable). Understanding the no-code mindset.
Your First Automation: Triggers and Actions
Building your first multi-step workflow. Triggers, actions, and filters. Data mapping between apps. Error handling basics.
Deterministic vs AI-Powered Automation
When simple rules beat AI: cost, speed, reliability. The "AI tax" and when it's worth paying. Decision frameworks for choosing your approach.
Data Architecture with Airtable
Airtable as your automation brain. Designing tables, fields, and views. Linking records and building relational structures. Connecting Airtable to Make/n8n.
Conditional Logic and Routing
Building complex decision trees. Routers, filters, and branching paths. Multi-path workflows based on data conditions.
Introduction to AI Integration
Connecting LLMs to your workflows. API basics (without coding). Setting up ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini integrations. Your first AI-powered automation.
Prompt Engineering for Automation
Writing prompts that work reliably in automated contexts. Structured outputs (JSON). Temperature and token management. Testing and iterating prompts.
AI for Classification and Routing
Using AI to categorise, score, and route. Lead qualification with AI. Sentiment analysis. Content classification. Building intelligent decision points.
AI Content Generation at Scale
Generating marketing content: emails, social posts, ad copy. Personalisation with AI. Managing quality and brand voice. Bulk generation workflows.
Building AI Agents
From automation to agents: autonomous decision-making. Agent architecture. Loops, memory, and iterative processing. Group project architecture planning.
System Integration Patterns
Connecting multiple automations into cohesive systems. Webhooks and real-time data flow. Error handling across systems. Documentation practices.
Marketing Team Amplifier: Build Session
Dedicated workshop for building individual components. Instructor support and troubleshooting. Integration testing between group members.
Testing, Monitoring, and Optimisation
Testing automation flows. Monitoring for failures. Performance optimisation. Maintenance best practices.
Final Presentations Prep (Part 1)
Group presentations: demonstrating the complete Marketing Team Amplifier system. Q&A and feedback.
Final Presentations (Part 2)
Individual component defence. Each student presents their specific contribution, explains technical decisions, and answers questions. Course wrap-up and next steps.
Prerequisites
Required Preparation (before the course): Create free accounts: Make.com, Zapier.com, Airtable.com, OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google AI Studio.
Basic understanding of marketing principles and the customer journey.
Familiarity with email marketing concepts and tools.
Comfort navigating web-based applications and connecting online accounts.
No programming or coding experience required.
Recommended prior modules: Content/Marketing Strategy, Email Marketing
Methodology
Week 1: Students work individually, building foundational skills across automation platforms. Focus on understanding the difference between deterministic logic and AI-powered decisions.
Week 2: Groups form at the start of the week. Students continue individual skill-building while beginning to plan their group's Marketing Team Amplifier architecture.
Week 3: Focus shifts to integration and system-level thinking. Students build their individual components and connect them into the group system. Final sessions are dedicated to presentations.
Task Structure: 5 daily tasks per week. (3 graded individually, 2 contribute to group project work)/ Ongoing feedback during office hours./ Final project combining group delivery with individual accountability.
