Methodology
This course uses a task-based communicative approach to the development of core English skills. It emphasizes language use in real-world contexts. The course uses instructor-led and group discussions, individual, pair and group work.

Irina Shchemeleva has extensive experience in higher education administration and curriculum development. Her professional journey includes various leadership roles such as Deputy Director for Internationalization, and Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities at HSE University in St. Petersburg.
Throughout her career, spanning over two decades, Irina Shchemeleva has demonstrated a profound commitment to English language teaching. As the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages at HSE University in St. Petersburg, she oversaw the recruitment, development, and evaluation of a large faculty team while also managing curriculum development and the creation and implementation of language teaching strategies for a large student body. Irina's dedication to language education is further demonstrated by her involvement in teaching a variety of English courses and developing teaching materials.
